Summer Camp represents the pinnacle of a Cub Scout's year in Scouting. Our council offers three types of summer camp for Cub Scouts -- Day Camp, Family Camp, and Arrow of Light Camp. All Scouts and adults attending camp must complete a BSA Health Form.
Tiger & Wolf Camp Track
This track is for rising Tiger and Wolf Cub Scouts. Traditionally, these Cub Scouts will be entering the first and second grades next school year and this may be their first day camp. While this track will include Cub Scout Adventures, it is open to all youth, including youth who are not members of the BSA. Cub Scouts are encouraged to invite a friend.
Day Camp Track
The Belzer Day Camp track is fun, educational, and open to all youth, including youth who are not members of the BSA. Scouts are encouraged to invite a friend. Activities and programs vary from week to week based on rotating themes. Each week will focus on getting out of the classroom and learning by doing. Activities and programs are specifically designed to be fun and engaging for two different age groups -- youth entering the third to fifth grades and youth entering the sixth through eighth grades.
Family Camp at Camp Kikthawenund is for rising Bear and Webelos Scouts and their entire family. Traditionally, these Scouts will be entering the third or fourth grade next school year. These Scouts often have been to Day Camp and are ready for their first overnight summer camp experience but ma not be comfortable being away from a parent. Family camp is the next step in preparing Cub Scouts for longer overnight camping.
Arrow of Light Camp is for Scouts who have just completed the Webelos rank. Traditionally, these Scouts will be entering the fifth grade next school year. These Scouts are ready for their first overnight summer camp experience without a parent. This camp is dedicated to preparing Arrow of Light Scouts to join a Scouts BSA troop. Scouts can expect an exciting program that introduces them to what Scouts BSA is all about.
At camp, your Arrow of Light Scout will experience what it's like to attend a Scouts BSA summer camp, such as Ransburg Scout Reservation, but in a smaller setting designed for Cub Scouts. This will include a Scouts BSA Outpost experience where your Scout will become a patrol member, elect a Patrol Leader, make a patrol flag, patrol yell, and us the patrol method. Your Scout will also experience all the fun activities expected at any summer camp, including air rifles, archery, handicrafts, aquatics, and Scoutcraft.
